The problem

The paper grading records plus the non-digital course driven, was causing several issues with patients treatments tracking, as well with students tasks.

Interpretation and ideation

Through different workshops, user research was conducted to understand the pain points and needs of prospective users. Based on this research, different user stories were identified for the different archetypes, which were approached in the design proposal.

Based on all found insights, a design proposal was developed. A first iteration of the information architecture was the structure of the userflows and wireframes.

Prototyping

Through testing sessions the design proposal was validated. A Cardsorting workshop helped to define user acceptance about the information architecture, while a paper prototyping session using Lo-Fi mockups gave insights about the first interactions with the design.

Design

The UI proposal was based upon projected usage of the users, who frequently required a support tool for their student grading and patient reporting tasks, in a specific environment. This proposal also brings the possibility to analyze data in a fast and qualitative way, in order to get useful information about the academic program. In order to be as effective as possible, tablets were considered as the main devices where the tool would be used.
